This past weekend was a sunny one, and if you’re and islander like me, you know to take advantage of it! Aside from seizing the chance at our amazing summer sale, what better way to do so than to spend the day lounging your dreams by the sea or frolicking around sea vessels and spotting funny looking sea creatures? 

I grabbed a few pals and we headed down by the harbour for some beach times - but we got hungry, and where better to go if you are by the sea and don’t want to catch your lunch? Canoe Brewpub!

Canoe Brewpub is an amazing spot whether you want to sit near the sea and enjoy great food or listen to live music on Thursday nights and again, enjoy great food. Their simple food philosophy is what attracted me: showcasing local farmers and their changing menu; highlights seasonal organics, local quality meat and Oceanwise sustainable seafood.

Locally-sourced comfort food for a great price, what could go wrong? I decided to order the Mussels which were made with Siren’s Song Pale Ale, fresh chili, leeks, garlic (gotta love garlic) tomatoes, and crouton for $14.50! Worth every penny. Or is it mussel?

A gal pal had ordered the Canoe burger (as she always does) which is made with locally-sourced beef patty, signature sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle on a brioche bun for $13.75, that was gone in a jiffy. 

Embarassingly, I forgot to take a picture of the desert before I ate it in record time. BUT - imagine a creme brulee made with honey and lavender paired with a house made biscotti, then you’ve got a Canoe Club creme brulee! If you’re not already drooling and rushing there as you read this!

Come one come all, enjoy the view and of course the great food, kick back with some good jams on Thursdays with live music and don’t forget to try the Caesars!
